Conscious Behavior in reefs environment
The natural beauty of the reefs represent an important tourist attraction. The increasing of these activities, combined with the popularity growing of diving practices, called the people’s attention, around the world, to this spectacular ecosystem.
In Brazil, the coral reefs follow 3 thousand kilometers of coast from Maranhão to the South of Bahia, representing the only reef formations from the South Atlantic.
From the 350 species of corals existing in the world, 18 of them are found in Brazil. 8 of them are endemic – found only in Brazilian seas. This fact makes our reefs the greatest coral endemism portion in the world.
